Superbird-A and -B are
two Ku/Ka-band fixed-satellite
services satellites built for Space Communications (SCC) of Japan.
Since the early 1990s, these satellites have provided commercial telecommunications
services that include satellite news gathering, cable TV, video conferencing,
newspaper transmission, business applications, and banking services.
Superbird-B has been de-orbited.
