Mobile
Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) of Japan uses the MBSAT direct-broadcast
services communications satellite to deliver digital multimedia
information services such as CD-quality audio, MPEG-4 video, and data
to mobile users throughout Japan. When service began in early 2004,
MBC became the first in the world to deliver these services to
mobile users through various kinds of portable devices.
