EchoStar XVII
| EchoStar XVII is a high-throughput satellite being built for Hughes Network Systems, LLC. Based on the powerful SS/L 1300 satellite platform, EchoStar XVII will deliver HughesNet® broadband satellite services to consumers, businesses and government customers across North America. The new geostationary satellite employs a multi-spot beam, bent pipe Ka-band architecture, providing significant additional capacity for HughesNet service in North America and will augment the SPACEWAY® 3 satellite system, which Hughes put into commercial service in April, 2008. EchoStar XVII is scheduled for launch in 2012. |
