C. Patrick DeWitt, Chief Executive Officer of Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) and vice president of Loral Space & Communications, has held management positions with SS/L and its predecessor companies for 33 years. He has served since 1996 as SS/L's executive vice president and since 1999 has been a member of the office of the president.

As President, Mr. DeWitt guided SS/L through a market slowdown and positioned the company as the premier commercial satellite manufacturer today. As executive vice president, Mr. DeWitt was responsible for finance, information systems, procurement, facilities, and human resources.

He joined the Western Development Labs of Ford Aerospace in 1973 as financial analyst, and held various financial management positions until he was named controller of Ford's Space Systems Division in 1988. Two years later, after Loral purchased the division, he was named vice president of finance for SS/L, with responsibility for all major financial and accounting operations.

Mr. DeWitt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from San Jose State University in 1974. He completed graduate work in business at the University of Santa Clara.
